Hello, I’m Carol

I am a UX UI Product Designer based in Melbourne, Australia.

After completing my Computer Science degree, I worked as an admin at a Graphic Design studio in Hong Kong. The experience triggered my interest in the field of design, and eventually, I enrolled myself in a Graphic Design course at Shillington College.

I landed my first in-house Graphic Designer job in a footwear wholesaler company, in this small family-sized business I was exposed to not only Graphic Design but all aspects of the business. I was soon involved in the production from start to finish. I have travelled overseas to look at trends, researched on market’s needs, produced seasonal ranges from concept to prototypes, created supporting marketing material to promote the products, communicated with factories on mass production, and organized logistics to have products delivered to customers.

After nine years of working in the footwear company, I then moved on to Entertainment, a loyalty program company that provides dining, retail, travel, and other lifestyle rewards for members. Started off as a Graphic Designer who was mostly involved in print, the company moved into the digital direction and I became an EDM (Electronic Direct Email) designer. As the company has eliminated its rewards voucher booklets by replacing them with digital phone apps, I became interested in how to make this conversion easy for users. That’s why I went to study UX UI at Coursera. Although this seems to be a relatively new field to me, my 15 years of experience in Graphic Design and footwear production have helped me excel in this self-taught study. I am now improving the UX UI of The Entertainment App, and websites, along with other 20 sister apps in the Entertainment’s B2B department.

I strongly believe that whether it is print, digital, UX, UI, or shoe design, it all comes down to a single number one priority – providing simple and elegant solutions for our users.
